Why Sand Boy?

In the old days Publicans would spread sand on bar floors to help keep the pub clean and tidy. At the end of each day the Sand Boys would break their backs sweeping and cleaning, building a thirst to take down a camel.

This Albariño is the ultimate thirst-quenching wine, especially if you’ve had a day of back-breaking work or holidaying on the beach.

Wash it down with a plate of the freshest seafood and relax in the knowledge of a hard day’s work well done.

Spain vs Portugal

Such has been the popularity of our Sand Boy Albariño from Rías Baixas, Spain, that we have had no choice but to search further afield for more of this delicious variety.

Luckily for you, we did not have to look too far as just over the boarder we found another great expression of this fabulous grape from Portugal.

SAND BOY ALBARIÑO

From the heart of Salnés Valley in Rías Baixas, the original Sand Boy Albariño, in its iconic frosted-blue bottle is all about the citrus acididty and mouth blasting freshness.

SAND BOY ALVARINHO

Same grape with its Portuguese spelling,  Sand Boy Alvarinho offers and fabulous lighter style of wine wine with a more pronounced lemon  and lime character.
